The Oasis Centre – Cornwall was originally registered with the Charity Commission as an unincorporated charity in October 2010 (Charity Number 1139355).
Following discussions with the Charity Commission, the Trustees reviewed the charity’s legal structure and agreed that a different structure would better reflect the charity’s current activities, governance arrangements, and long-term development. As a result, the charity was re-registered as a charitable trust on 11 November 2025 (Charity Number 1215716).
In line with Charity Commission guidance, all assets, activities, rights, and responsibilities of the original charity were transferred to the newly registered charity. The original charity was formally merged into the new charity on 1 January 2026, and this merger is recorded on the Charity Commission’s Register of Merged Charities.
Throughout this process, there was no change to the charity’s objects, vision, mission, Trustees, or Chair. The charity continued its work without interruption, ensuring complete continuity of leadership, governance, and charitable purpose.
This change was purely a legal and administrative restructuring. It enables the charity’s governance arrangements to better reflect how the organisation operates today while preserving its longstanding charitable aims, values, and services to the community.
